FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, June 27, 2013

“THE TERRIBLE LOYALTY” WRITTEN BY SANDY MOSS WINS HONORABLE MENTION AT THE NEW YORK AND BEACH BOOK FESTIVALS.

This marks the fourth honorable mention for Sandy Moss.

Chino Valley, Prescott & Prescott Valley, AZ – “The Terrible Loyalty,” written by Sandy Moss, recently received Honorable Mentions at both the New York Book Festival and the Beach Book Festival.  Earlier this spring she also received Honorable Mentions at the San Francisco Book Festival and the Paris Book Festival.  Sandy was a newspaper reporter and award-winning AP journalist for more than a dozen years with both The Daily Spectrum in St. George, Utah, and The Daily Courier in Prescott, Arizona.  She transitioned into radio broadcasting in 2003, where she is currently the Arts and Entertainment Editor for Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group in Prescott (KPPV 106.7FM; KQNA 1130AM and 99.9FM; KDDL 94.3FM and 103.1FM; KUGO in the Grand Canyon and KPKR in Parker Arizona).   In that capacity she does Movie Reviews, Nite Beats, and hosts a KQNA Live Talk Show Monday – Thursday at 3 pm.

“The Terrible Loyalty” is her first book.

“’The Terrible Loyalty’ is the true story of two men, already life-long friends, who ventured into the heart of the endless ocean at its loneliest point in a 20-foot sailboat.  Embarking on a trip across the Pacific Ocean from southern California, to Hilo, Hawaii, they navigated by means only of a sextant and the stars.  It was meant to be their Great Adventure.  The men had planned for an uneventful sail, but encountered an El Nino storm that threatened their lives, threw them unmercifully off course, and sealed their fates as they battled to survive.  Readers will come to know these two extraordinary men and their amazing journey–not only on the sea, but beyond–as their friendship developed and strengthened through the years, then agonize with them in their most powerful test.  Other sailors have crossed the ocean’s expanse, but few with such primitive tools, such a small boat, and with the depth of friendship and determination as these two friends.”

The book is available in paperback at Amazon.com; www.mossycovepublications.com, or locally at Peregrine Book Company or Hastings. It is also available in hardcover edition from lulu.com or at barnesandnoble.com.
